From July 20, 1999 to the present, the Chinese Communist Party’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong has continued for 26 years. This persecution has brought devastating tragedy to countless Falun Gong practitioners and their families, causing many of us—including my fellow practitioners—to lose our jobs, our freedom, and even our most precious lives. On the evening of July 19, 2025 (Saturday), nearly three hundred Falun Gong practitioners in Los Angeles held a “720 Candlelight Vigil” in front of the Chinese Consulate. This event was part of a series of candlelight memorials held around the world. In front of the consulate, participants displayed multiple banners with messages such as: “Falun Dafa Is Good,” “The World Needs Truthfulness–Compassion–Forbearance,” “Dismantle the CCP and Stop the Persecution,” “26 Years of Falun Gong’s Peaceful and Rational Resistance,” and “Release All Detained Falun Gong Practitioners Immediately.”
